As you probably already know, Mary J. Blige has (allegedly) punched out her husband, drawing blood with the strike. She even (again, allegedly) went so far as to taunt him saying "What are you gonnna do, Chris Brown me?", saying he had better not hit her back. Mary has now physically abused her husband for checking out a waitress, and I cant help but think back to the Chris Brown/Rihanna situation. Chris has been all but crucified for hitting Rihanna, whereas everywhere I've looked people are praising Mary for "not taking it anymore". The double standards are sickening, what Mary and Chris did is THE SAME THING, if you're gonna boycott and wish ill on him you have to do the same to her now.

again what chris did was well beyond just hitting, he Beat her down.
I am not taking mary's side on this, but I do not think one punch by mary , is the equivalent of what chris did choke, Bite, beat the heck ot her, and threatened to kill her, are in the same boat.
It's like comparing a normal school fght, to a school fight where a student takes a plank and beats another student on the head repeatedly, I am not saying anyone should fight, or hat each other at all, but they are not all the same.
I agree that Mary J's abuse wasnt quite as severe, but its still abuse, especially if it drew blood. My point is Mary will be congratulated for "not putting up with it anymore", and her CDs will probably sell even more if she talks about the incident. Chris on the other hand is called scum and his career is written off because of his mistake. Its a nasty double standard that should be abolished. I think if we can forgive Mary and "give her a pass", we should do the same for Chris.

She's a woman, so that automatically makes her the victim somehow.
Hilarious, pathetic excuse for a female.
Remember kids, spousal battery is okay as long as it's a woman beating up her man.

You're right it's a dumb double standard. Since the average woman is physically weaker than the average man it's not taken as seriously. People think that a man should be able to take care of himself if she's trying to kill him, and naturally it would be a lot harder for a woman to hurt a man with her bare hands. That doesn't mean that she wouldn't be able kill if she wanted to. Which is why domestic violence on all fronts shouldn't be tolerated.
I'm very disappointed in Mary J. Being a victim of domestic violence herself, I assumed that she would know better. It wouldn't surprise me if she has done this before.

Women are allowed to let their ridiculous emotions take control and it justifies ANY action they may take. If your girlfriend or wife becomes angry or jealous they can harm you in any way they see fit and there is no penalty. You should just be a man and "take it" and you better not THINK of smacking the chick upside her head. Carrie Underwood had some stupid hit song about taking a baseball bat to her cheating boyfriend's truck. If a man did a similar song, women would be outraged!
