I didn't realize she was ill, I've always enjoyed her work hope she starts working again eventually. What type of illness does she have?

Well, women with her bodytype often struggle to keep their curves from getting "out of hand", anyway. Even if she were well, she would probably be putting up a fierce battle of the bulge - especially since she's a 40-year-old woman.
But add in the dimension of mental illness and medicationand those things can do absolutely cruel things to your body. As someone already said - most (if not all) of the drugs taken for schizophrenia cause massive weight gain in many people. You can be on a 1200 calorie-per-day diet, and exercise 6 days per week - and still become obese. Those drugs can wreck your metabolism to shreds - which is just one of the reasons why people don't like taking these medications.

I would be first in line if Lisa ever wrote a memoir.

I've also heard she's gained alot of weight. It's a common sideeffect from the medication taken to treat schizofrenia as well as other serious mental conditions. Let us all hope she's alright.

Even if she has gained a LOT of weight(heaven forbid a sick women do that-gasp-the shame!) At least she is alive and hopefully getting better.
