Trial against Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs begins
Last September, rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested for numerous alleged sexual offenses.
His trial begins today. He faces a lengthy prison sentence.
Sean Combs
Even if it's only about jury selection at first, Sean "Diddy" Combs wants to be present in the courtroom in person from the start. TV cameras are not allowed. The court has accommodated Combs in one respect: instead of wearing the brown prison uniform, he can dress as he pleases.
Serious Charges
The charges filed by the New York District Attorney's Office are serious: They primarily involve human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation (sex trafficking) and organized crime. The rapper is alleged to have abused and threatened women and men for years. In order to fulfill his sexual desires in day-long orgies, Sean Combs allegedly ran a
"criminal enterprise"
with dozens of helpers. According to the indictment, women and men were flown in from all over the country, some of whom were drugged and raped.
These are serious charges, says New York criminal law expert and attorney Zachary Margulis-Ohnuma to the ARD studio in New York:
"Taking everything into account, Combs could spend the rest of his life in prison if found guilty."
Combs' Lawyers plead for Acquittal
Combs' lawyers, however, are pleading for acquittal, which is why they rejected an out-of-court settlement. Admitting guilt is out of the question for the rapper, they say. Their defense strategy: The sex orgies were consensual. They're part of the rapper's debauched
"swinger lifestyle"
. Nothing about them is illegal.
A clever argument that could well be successful, says criminal law expert Margulis-Ohnuma:
"Because the alleged victims wanted to participate voluntarily, to earn money
or to be close to Sean Combs. But they were not forced to do so."
Videos show Beating of ex-Girlfriend
The charges are based on the testimony of four women. Three wish to remain anonymous. The fourth is Combs' longtime girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. She was brutally beaten and kicked by Combs in a hotel hallway. The video footage from a hotel surveillance camera was broadcast by numerous media outlets and was admitted to the New York trial.
It's still unclear whether video clips of the sex orgies will be shown in the courtroom. This fact alone would not be sufficient for a conviction, emphasizes criminal law expert Margulis-Ohnuma:
"It's not illegal to have sex parties. Videos of them do not prove that a crime was committed."
Law firm represents 120 additional Civil Lawsuits against Combs
The prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that force was used. Or that the victims were drugged and raped against their will. Or that minors participated in the sex orgies. If this were the case, proof of coercion would not be necessary. Combs would be guilty and could face a long prison sentence.
Independent of the New York trial, there are numerous civil lawsuits against the rapper.
A law firm in Houston, Texas, now represents 120 men and women who've sued Combs.
Trial to last several Weeks
The trial in New York is expected to last several weeks. Regardless of the verdict, it's a major fall for the Grammy-winning rapper and powerful music entrepreneur. None of his former friends, who regularly attended his famous
"white parties"
want anything to do with him anymore – including ex-partner Jennifer Lopez, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z. The only ones who continue to stand by him are his mother and children. They will be present in the courtroom in New York.
This can be a preview:
Judge hinted earlier today at Length of Sean "Diddy" Combs' Prison Sentence
Earlier today, Judge Arun Subramanian hinted at how much prison time he'll give Sean "Diddy" Combs on the two prostitution convictions.
The judge said he's calculated a sentencing range from 70 to 87 months.
That's a window of a little less than
6 years up to a little more than seven

"Diddy" teaches Fellow Inmates Business Skills and how to be more like him
Ahead of the mogul’s sentencing on prostitution charges next week, his lawyers submitted
a description and curriculum for the course he created,
"Free Game With Diddy"
.
Sean Combs performing in London in 2023.
Sean “Diddy” Combs spent a chunk of his time in jail over the past year instructing his fellow inmates in the ways of business management, entrepreneurship and how to be more like Sean “Diddy” Combs.
A description and curriculum for the course, dubbed
"Free Game With Diddy"
, was submitted to the court this week, along with testimonials from Combs’ students and a positive evaluation of the class from the jail’s Unit Counselor. All of this was sent to Judge Arun Subramanian as Combs’ lawyers work to secure their client the most lenient sentence possible following his conviction on two felony prostitution charges.
As they assured the judge in their letter of Combs’ course:
"Notably, the evaluation acknowledges Mr. Combs as a tutor, gives him the highest possible ratings and concludes with 'excellent class, keep up the great work.' Furthermore, as stated in our sentencing memorandum, this course has had a substantial impact on fellow inmates."
"Free Game With Diddy"
is described as a
"six-week educational program designed to equip participants with essential skills in business management, entrepreneurship and personal development.”
And Combs chose to impart this knowledge by essentially talking about himself.
"The course offers exclusive insights into the journey of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, tracing his rise from humble beginnings to becoming a globally recognized icon and influential business mogul,"
the description reads.
"Through firsthand accounts and real-world experiences drawn from Mr. Combs’ corporate endeavors and entrepreneurial ventures, the program provides a unique perspective on navigating and succeeding in the business world."
Meanwhile, the class outline is a bullet point list of corporate-speak and cliché.
"Successful People Do What Unsuccessful People Won’t Do,"
states one header, beneath which are listed three follow-up criteria (two of which, go figure, have to do with managing one’s ego):
"Never be embarrassed — No ego"; "Out Work the Competition"; "Ego — the conscious self/extreme."
Other classes had names such as
"Just Do It,"
in which Combs talked about short-term goals and making plans (
"How much?" "How long?"
); and
"Time Waits for No Man,"
where the importance of deadlines were discussed. Another bullet point —
"You can make money but you can’t make time"
— finds Combs ostensibly expounding on the parable.
The most dense class topic was
"The Marathon 26.2,"
with sub-topics including:
"Nothing happens overnight", "Trust the process", "What does success look like", "Heavy is the head", "The price of success"
and
“Success — Responsibility”
. Combs even taught a bonus class called
"Can’t Stop Won’t Stop"
with the sub-topics aptly listed simply as:
"Don’t stop"
and
"Never give up"
.
Now, none of this is to suggest that Combs, who was genuinely one of the most successful music producers and businessmen of the past 30 years, doesn’t have a wealth of knowledge on the subject at hand. But when one of the key class assignments is "
Write an essay which incorporates lessons learned from Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ journey, personal insights gained throughout the program and methods of achieving long term goals"
— that might raise questions we’re not exactly convinced Combs’ courses on the ego will sufficiently address.
The course does not appear to mention any of Combs’ non-business history or lessons or lack thereof, learned. Following CNN’s airing of Combs’ beating of ex-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel room, Combs claimed to have hit
"rock bottom"
in a video he posted to social media.
"Had to go into therapy, go into rehab, had to ask God for his mercy and grace."
However, as a Rolling Stone investigation in January revealed, Combs’ allegedly remained sexually abusive, volatile and wildly manipulative long after the 2016 hotel assault.
Something about
"Free Game With Diddy"
— with its towering, charismatic central figure imparting wisdom at once specific and vague — feels like self-help guru crossed with career coach mixed with just a dash of multi-level marketing. Nevertheless, Combs’ charges had nothing but rave reviews for their tutor.
"Because of this class I have a purpose, something to look forward to every day,"
one inmate wrote, while another stated,
"He has showed us that it is the little adjustments to our everyday lives that add up to a big change."
Others highlighted the way Combs stressed the importance realistic goals, creating a successful plan, and putting one’s
"pride aside"
.
"Even behind bars and with limited resources I have witnessed this man do magical things,"
one inmate and student wrote.
"In a place of segregation I have seen Mr. Combs bring unity to all races and ethnics groups no matter th

Sean "Diddy" Combs listed his sprawling Los Angeles mansion for sale for $61.5 million in September 2024 — days before he was arrested on sex trafficking charges, which he has since been cleared of.
The 10-bedroom, 13-bathroom property remained on the market throughout Diddy's trial, during which he was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Sean Combs doesn't deserve a new Trial
Sean "Diddy" Combs doesn't deserve a new trial because “there was more than a sufficient basis” to support his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, federal prosecutors argued in a new court filing overnight, submitted in response to a July 31 defense motion requesting acquittal or a new trial.
….
Of course, Comb's lawyers try everything they can to get him out of prison.
They're paid well for it.
There's really no reason for a new trial.
Perhaps Comb's lawyers only motivate the judge to go
WAY BEYOND
the 4 years.

Before Sentencing, Sean "Diddy" Combs participates in Prison Therapy.
Diddy is already attempting to rehabilitate himself – he's enrolling in self-improvement programs
while in federal lockup to address his drug use and violence against women.
Combs in prison.
Sources close to the situation tell TMZ … Diddy is in the STOP Program, a course the feds offer inmates focused on preventing sexual assault, domestic and dating violence. We're also told he is undergoing therapy, and is in the Dr. Harry K. Wexler drug abuse program. Our sources say Diddy is using the programs to work hard on bettering himself – and one source called it his path toward redemption.
Of course, cynics might say there's a different motivation. Diddy's federal trial featured lots of testimony about domestic abuse against Cassie and Jane … as well as his rampant use of drugs like Molly. It's not uncommon for convicted individuals to enter various programs to show the judge they're serious about rehabilitation ahead of sentencing. We're told he actually started the drug treatment before his arrest last year, and he's continued while behind bars.
Judge rejected Bail
Diddy dealt federal prosecutors a major loss when he was found not guilty on racketeering and sex trafficking charges … but the jury nailed him on the 2 lesser charges for prostitution.
After the verdict, his lawyers filed a motion to release him on bail until sentencing. The judge denied this request, apparently citing Combs'
"violent past"
as the primary reason for him remaining behind bars.
As reported, Diddy's sentencing will go down on October 03, 2025.
Prosecutors recommended a 4-year sentence, but it will be up to Judge Arun Subramanian.

Alternate Juror says Hotel Video didn't play Big Part
The hip-hop mogul was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
But found guilty on prostitution charges.
Sean Combs is relieved about the verdict.
An alternate juror in Sean Combs‘ criminal sex trafficking and racketeering trial has spoken out following the mogul’s acquittal on the more serious charges, saying the footage of Combs attacking Casandra
"Cassie"
Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel did not weigh too heavily in the context of the charges.
Alternate Juror understood the Verdicts
"I mean, it was a very bad video,"
the 37-year-old man, who works at the United Nations in the counter-terrorism office, told CNN anchor Laura Coates on Thursday. But Combs
"wasn’t charged with domestic violence"
.
The man, who CNN declined to give the full name of, said he would’ve likely reached the same conclusion as the eight men and four women who decided Combs’ fate.
"I understood the final verdict," he said.
"I took a copious amount of notes, overall 350 pages worth of notes…and looking back at the evidence, I probably would have reached the same conclusion as the other jurors…I think there was always a little bit of doubt."
On Wednesday morning, Combs dropped to his knees in prayer after he was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and the sex trafficking of Ventura and Combs’ girlfriend
"Jane"
. The
Bad Boy Entertainment
founder escaped a life sentence, but he still faces prison time after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Statements about the “Freak-Off” Videos
Although the juror was not part of the group that deliberated, he was the first member of the jury pool, which included six alternates, who shared their thoughts after sitting through eight weeks of grueling testimony from 34 witnesses. He also spoke about the sealed
freak-off
videos of Combs’ girlfriends having sex with male escorts. Both prosecutors from the Southern District of New York and Combs’ high-powered defense team played the explicit videos, but the man said, each side showed different tapes.
Tripping over his words when trying to describe the explicit videos, the man said, they were riveting but some portions were tame.
"They were very graphic, but I think overall, it was looking at it from one side,"
the man offered.
"It was definitely riveting and eye-opening."
However, he seemed to contradict himself a few seconds later when he said some videos, while depicting sexual activity, didn’t show anything too graphic.
"It didn’t seem forced,”
he added.
"It was actually, like pretty tame. It was just much rubbing oil."
Allegations of Coercion and Drugs
Prosecutors claimed, Combs coerced his girlfriends Ventura and Jane to participate in
freak-offs
, where the women would have sex with male escorts while Combs masturbated and filed the encounters. Both women testified they often felt obligated to perform during these days-long sex marathons, taking mood-changing drugs to dissociate from the experience. (Combs denied the allegations.)
Further Developments
Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting sentencing. A hearing on his sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 08. His team has requested an expedited sentencing, as they plan to push for a minimum sentence for the one-time billionaire.
Speaking to members of the press following the verdict, Combs’ lead attorney Marc Agnifilo said they weren’t
"nearly done fighting"
in the case.
"We’re not going to stop until he walks out of prison a free man to his family."
The reserve juror didn't
"contradict himself"
, but simply described his impressions and very accurately presented the legal situation in this criminal case.
Many are disappointed with the verdicts, but seem to forget that it's not the task of the criminal court to decide on Combs' poor character. And as this alternate juror pointed out, Combs wasn't charged in this trial for beating up his girlfriend in the hotel hallway.
Combs isn't off the hook. The fact that he has to remain in jail until his sentencing next Tuesday speaks volumes.

Sean "Diddy" Combs found guilty on 2 of 5 Charges
The trial against Combs in New York made headlines for months.
Combs is one of the most successful musicians of recent years.
Now the jury delivered the verdicts.
Sean Combs at the Oscar party in 2018.
In Sean "Diddy" Combs's sex crimes trial, the jury found the former rap star partially guilty. The sentence wasn't yet announced. Here's an overview of the charges and the verdicts against him:
Forming a Criminal Organization –> Not guilty
Sex trafficking / Human trafficking –> Not guilty
(former girlfriend Casandra Ventura)
Soliciting for Prostitution –>
Guilty
2nd Count of Sex trafficking / Human trafficking –> Not guilty
(former girlfriend
"Jane"
)
2nd Count Soliciting for Prostitution –>
Guilty
Combs (55) smiled after the verdict was announced and folded his hands in prayer.
He said
"thank you"
several times in the courtroom and also whispered thanks to the jurors.
If the musician were convicted of forming a criminal organization or sex trafficking, he would've faced life imprisonment. Now, he faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, according to the Washington Post. Other sources speak of up to 20 years in prison.
Sean Combs during the trial.
Combs' family applauded and whistled after the jury's decision. Combs' lead defense attorney declared that the musician was given his life back by the jury. The jury consisted of eight men and four women and deliberated for a total of 13 hours to reach their verdicts.
As usual, Judge Arun Subramanian will announce the sentence for Combs, who was in custody since September, at a later date. The court expected to decide on Wednesday [
today
] whether Combs could remain free until sentencing.
Janice, Sean Combs' mother, leaves the courtroom in New York with her thumb raised.
The jury wasn't convinced that the two women were forced to participate in the sex marathons, the so called
"freak-offs"
with male companions. Combs' defense attorneys argued during the trial that the women had consensual sex. During the orgies, the women were usually under the influence of drugs. The accusation of forming a criminal organization also failed to convince the jury.
Combs pleaded not guilty.
New York prosecutors accused the rapper of abusing, threatening and coercing women to fulfill his sexual desires for years. He allegedly ran a
"criminal enterprise"
with accomplices. Several women reported years of severe sexual and physical abuse during the trial, which lasted several weeks.
Combs denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.
Combs with his former girlfriend, singer Casandra Ventura, in an older photo.
The charge of conspiracy to commit organized crime was originally created for gang-related crimes such as those committed by the Mafia. This charge was successfully used in the trial of singer R. Kelly to expose a systematic pattern of sexual abuse.
This charge against Combs was very serious, but the prosecution failed to convince the jury that the defendant carried out his actions in collaboration with a network of insiders. This requires that all those involved knew that the conduct was criminal.
Intimate Sex Details publicly disclosed
Millions of US-Americans and people around the world followed the trial in the media, with its intimate and disturbing details.
The proceedings brought back memories of similar sexual offense trials against former superstars in recent years, including musician R. Kelly, comedian Bill Cosby and producer Harvey Weinstein. The allegations against Weinstein sparked the global #MeToo movement.
Numerous other Accusations against Combs
In addition to the indictment by the New York District Attorney's Office, there are numerous civil lawsuits against Combs. A law firm in Houston, Texas, says it represents around 120 people with allegations against the rapper.
Born in 1969 in the New York City borough of Harlem, Combs was one of the world's most successful rappers in recent decades with hits such as
"I'll Be Missing You"
and
"Bad Boy For Life"
. Over the course of his career, he used pseudonyms which included
"Puff Daddy"
,
"P. Diddy"
and
"Diddy"
.
The musician was married three times and has seven children. He also founded his own label and enjoyed success with a fashion brand. His family and rapper Kanye West expressed their support for Combs in the courtroom. (dpa)

Jurors agreed on a Partial Verdict – but are still deliberating
For weeks, the New York trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs on sexual assault charges was in the spotlight.
Now, leastwise some consensus was reached.
Sean combs pleads "not guilty" as trial nears end.
In Sean Combs' sex crimes trial, the jury reached a verdict on several counts. USA media outlets reported, citing a jury message, that the jury agreed on several counts, but not all.
The disputed issue was organized crime, according to NBC.
The prosecution and defense initially appeared determined to have the jury deliberate further.
Combs (55) was charged with sex trafficking, organized crime and other offenses.
Disputed Issue: Organized Crime
The fact that the jury agreed on all counts except the most serious (organized crime) could indicate that Combs should prepare for guilty verdicts on these charges. But that's currently considered speculation. Judge Arun Subramanian, appeared determined not to accept a partial verdict, so the jurors will have to deliberate further on Wednesday [
today
]. Means, there was no verdict on Tuesday [
yesterday
].
New York prosecutors accused the rapper of abusing, threatening and coercing women into fulfilling his sexual desires for years. They alleged that he ran a
"criminal enterprise"
with his helpers. Several women reported years of severe sexual and physical abuse during the trial, which lasted several weeks.
Combs denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.
The proceedings evoked memories of similar sexual offense trials against former superstars in recent years — including musician R. Kelly, comedian Bill Cosby and producer Harvey Weinstein. The allegations against Weinstein sparked the global #MeToo movement, which has since faced considerable backlash.
Numerous other Allegations against Combs
In addition to the indictment filed by the New York District Attorney's Office, there are also numerous civil lawsuits against Combs. Among them, a law firm in Houston, Texas, says it represents around 120 people with allegations against the rapper. (dpa)
Yah, that the jury was able to reach a consensus so quickly on the sex charges points to guilty verdicts.
Then again, there's that one stubborn juror, whom I greatly admire for his courage and his reasoned questioning regarding the judge's cryptic instruction(s). This was already discussed in Tit's thread.
So we'll have to wait and see what the verdicts actually turn out to be.

Judge dismisses Sean Combs' Juror over inconsistent Statements
Judge said,
"there's nothing the juror could say at this point that would
put the genie back in the bottle and repair the damage to his credibility."
Courtroom sketch of Sean Combs in his sex trafficking trial in New York on June 13, 2025.
The juror, a 41-year-old Black man who works for New York’s Department of Corrections, initially said he lived in the Bronx. He later casually mentioned to court staff during trial that he had moved to New Jersey to live with his fiancée and child. When the issue was brought to the court’s attention, the man said the move to New Jersey
"may not be permanent"
and that he still had a New York driver’s license and received his mail in the Bronx.
Judge: "Try to stay on the jury."
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said
"the record raised serious concerns as to the juror’s candor and whether he shaded answers to get on and stay on the jury."
(According to CNN, the man said during jury selection that he was a fan of 1990s hip-hop but that he didn’t know much about the case.)
"Even if this juror had an excuse or explanation for the inconsistencies in the record, that would be yet another set of shifting answers on basic questions about the juror’s residence. This would only heighten the specter that the juror’s trying to shade answers in an effort to remain on the jury,"
Subramanian said Monday as he issued his final decision.
"In other words, there’s nothing the juror could say at this point that would put the genie back in the bottle and repair the damage to his credibility."
Combs sighed in court after the judge ruled. The reaction was noticeably muted compared to Friday,
when he was visibly angry, vigorously shaking his head and whispering to his legal team. Combs’ camp emphatically fought the juror’s removal, calling him
one of only two Black men on the jury
. On Friday, Combs’ attorney, Xavier Donaldson, said it would be a
"step backwards"
to remove the man. In a letter to the court filed Sunday night, the defense team said Combs wanted a mistrial if the juror was dismissed.
The lawyers said prosecutors used seven of their nine peremptory strikes to remove Black jurors from the prospective panel before the final jury was selected. They argued that removing the seated juror over his residency issue after five weeks of trial would be
"discriminatory"
.
Defense demands Fairness – Judge disagrees
"The fairness of the trial depends in part on having jurors with backgrounds similar to Mr. Combs share their perspectives on the evidence with other jurors from diverse backgrounds during deliberations,"
the 14-page letter, authored by Combs’ attorney Alexandra Shapiro, said.
"Removing this particular juror will deprive Mr. Combs of that important perspective and it's no answer to simply say that there are other Black jurors, or other males, on the jury."
On Monday, Judge Subramanian said it would be
"improper"
to consider the race of the juror while determining whether to excuse the man. The judge said he took the weekend to consider the issue
and that he was comfortable with his decision, considering the alternate jurors were selected in a fair
process agreed to by both sides.
The alternate juror who filled the dismissed juror’s seat is a 57-year-old male who appears to be white and lives with his wife and children in Westchester County, according to NBC News. On Monday, the defense contested another juror, though Subramanian said there was no connection between that juror and the one already dismissed.
Combs faces Life Imprisonment
Combs (55) was arrested in September and has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering conspiracy. If convicted as charged,
he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Combs’ lawyers deny the music mogul was the head of a criminal enterprise allegedly designed to fulfill his sexual desires and protect his reputation. Instead, they’ve described Combs as a
"swinger"
who indulged his
"kinky"
proclivities with his longtime girlfriends. Combs has acknowledged he kicked and dragged Casandra
"Cassie"
Ventura in the hallway of the InterContinental hotel in 2016, but he denies he coerced her or another recent ex-girlfriend with the pseudonym
"Jane"
into sex trafficking.
Throughout the trial playing out in lower Manhattan, prosecutors have alleged Combs used force, fraud, or coercion to manipulate Ventura and Jane into drug-fueled, highly orchestrated sex marathons with male escorts that Combs directed and recorded. The encounters were known as
freak-offs, hotel nights and
king nights
according to testimony.
For the first time Monday, jurors were shown
freak-off
videos, which were admitted under seal and not shown to the gallery.
The explicit videos were introduced using a summary chart that detailed 71 alleged instances where Combs booked hotel rooms for
freak-offs
with Ventura between August 2009 and June 2017. The cha

Sean Combs Accuser breaks Silence, reveals Name in Lawsuit
"Filing this lawsuit…is not an act of revenge. It's an act of release,"
Chelsea Lovelace says of her sexual assault suit against the mogul.
Sean Combs in Los Angeles in 2019.
An ex-girlfriend of Sean Combs who claimed the mogul had been continually pushing her to have a
"freak-off"
before he allegedly drugged her at his Miami mansion in July — two months before he was arrested — has refiled her civil lawsuit under her real name.
The woman, Chelsea Lovelace, filed her lawsuit, which included allegations of sexual assault, against Combs on September 27, 2024, a little more than a week after the 55-year-old was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Lovelace, who met Combs during his birthday trip to Turks and Caicos in November 2020 and dated the mogul until last September, used a pseudonym when filing the lawsuit, citing the sensitive nature of the sexual-abuse allegations and fear for her safety. In a statement today to Rolling Stone, Lovelace said she was coming forward with her real name because she wanted to choose
"healing over hiding"
.
"There was a time I truly believed we shared something real. In my heart, for a time I believed he genuinely cared about me,"
Lovelace says.
"That we both cared for one another in a way that meant something. But over time, that illusion shattered. And with it, so did parts of me. What I once thought was love and loyalty, quickly turned into manipulation, control and abuse. I was not seen as a person with a soul, but as a pawn in a much larger game."
"I didn’t want to believe it. I wrestled with God, with my heart, with my own silence. Filing this lawsuit - first as Jane Doe, and now as myself - is not an act of revenge. It's an act of release. Of standing in my truth. Of choosing healing over hiding. This is about dignity. This is about accountability. This is about the countless times I told myself to be quiet and stay loyal, until silence became too heavy to bear."
Combs previously denied all accusations of sexual assault.
"No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or sex-trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor,"
his legal team said in a statement.
"Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to separate fact from fiction, and Mr. Combs is confident that he will prevail in court."
In the updated 22-page complaint obtained by
Rolling Stone
, Lovelace alleged after meeting Combs the two quickly began a relationship. The couple saw each other at least once a month, with Combs organizing Lovelace’s travels to join him in various cities, including Miami, Los Angeles, and New York.
She alleged each time she visited Combs, he would make her
"perform a show"
for him. Speaking to
Rolling Stone
in January for an investigation into Combs under the pseudonym
"Nicole"
, Lovelace said these shows would include Lovelace slathering herself in warmed baby oil and engaging in sexual activity with Combs that stretched hours.
Lovelace claimed Combs once sexually assaulted her at his Los Angeles home in April 2022, and throughout their four-year relationship
"would consistently pressure [her about] adding other men and women into the bedroom despite [Lovelace] being clear that she did not want others involved,"
her lawsuit alleged.
In further unsettling allegations that mirror the testimony at Combs’ criminal sex-trafficking trial from ex-girlfriend Casandra
"Cassie"
Ventura and another ex-girlfriend using the pseudonym
"Jane"
, Lovelace claimed Combs routinely gave her alcohol and illicit drugs, including Ecstasy, to
"compel [her] into engaging in sex acts without her consent"
. She claimed Combs would sometimes videotape their sexual encounters without her consent, only learning of the alleged records after the fact, according to her suit.
Combs would allegedly
"compel"
Lovelace to take these illicit substances until she passed out, once forcing her to take ketamine and another time shoving two unknown pills into her mouth — both instances resulting in her blacking out. She said she’d often wake up covered in bruises, once with bite marks on her feet, with no recollection of how she sustained the injuries.
Lovelace alleged that Combs was controlling, discouraging her from working and having his staff incessantly attempt to contact her when he couldn’t reach her. Lovelace also alleged that she feared Combs could be monitoring her communications when she wasn’t with him.
During her last in-person visit in July 2024, Lovelace previously told
Rolling Stone
, Combs allegedly asked he

Courtroom sketch of Sean Combs watching "Jane" during his trial in New York.
One of Sean Combs’ ex-girlfriends left the witness stand in tears Friday after testifying how Combs sprung a seemingly never-ending
freak-off
on her during what was supposed to be a romantic, one-on-one birthday celebration. The woman, identified by the pseudonym
"Jane"
and listed as Victim-2 in the criminal indictment, said she was enjoying a dinner with Combs at
Nobu
in Miami in 2023 when he mentioned that a male escort would be coming that evening.
"I just gulped,"
Jane said during her second day of testimony, having previously told the jury that she tried to push back on the idea of
freak-offs
to a dismissive Combs.
"I just accepted it."
Upon returning to the hotel room, Combs gifted Jane a necklace. Then a man Jane had never seen before entered the room. Jane said she became like a
“robot”
tapping into a well-established routine that she’d become familiar with since her first
freak-off
or
"hotel night"
with Combs in May 2021 — putting on lingerie, making small talk, and flirting with the escort. Through heavy sobs, Jane said on the stand,
"I just begin. I put my thoughts away. I turn into someone else."
Trying to speed through the night, Jane said she began to ask the man to use protection before they had intercourse, sparking an upset reaction from Combs.
"He was giving me dirty looks,"
Jane said. She remembered him saying,
"You better not ask for a ****ing condom."
Combs eventually relented but
"hated"
the ensuing sexual activity, Jane said. He was allegedly
"disinterested and so disappointed in what was happening,"
walking around the room. After the man left, Combs allegedly changed the couple’s room, moving into a bigger suite that was decorated for Jane’s birthday with flowers, balloons and a cake.
"He shifted his energy,"
Jane recalled, describing Combs as positive and sweet. The two had a
"rare bit of alone time"
when a knock came at the door. Another male escort arrived. Jane said there were
"hours and hours"
of sexual activity with the second man. She testified she wasn’t sure when the male escort left but remembered the sun had already risen. Then a third man arrived.
"It felt like even more of an abusive moment because it was my birthday and I didn’t want to do it on my birthday,"
Jane said while sobbing. She added that she hated
freak-offs
but complied because she
"loved my partner"
.
Throughout her testimony, Jane continually returned to the idea of being deeply in love with Combs and willing to do anything to make him happy after falling
"head over heels"
for him during a whirlwind romance in early 2021. When Jane consented to her first
freak-off
months later, she compared it to opening up a
"Pandora’s box in the relationship"
she was unable to shut until Combs’ arrest in September 2024.
Combs (55) appeared unfazed throughout much of Jane’s testimony, even while she sobbed on the stand trying to explain the toll Combs’ alleged insistence on
hotel nights
with male escorts made her feel. He pleaded not guilty to 5 felony counts of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Later in the day, Jane returned to the aftermath of this 2023 birthday, alleging that Combs had left her in the hotel room to go on vacation with another woman.
"It broke my heart,"
Jane said.
"I spent my birthday having sex with these guys."
After realizing that Combs embarked on his other vacation, she texted him,
"You’ve left me behind for years now."
And later, after reminding him that he’d promised her one-on-one time, she told him,
"I didn’t want to do all that on my birthday. You knew how I was tired."
Jane repeatedly told Combs that she felt used, and wrote at one point,
"Don’t I give you everything you want? What am I doing wrong?"
"Anything outside these hotels, I’m a joke to you,"
she added.
Jane testified that, after her birthday, she and Combs spent several weeks apart, though Combs repeatedly called and texted her (as did members of his staff). Eventually, they made up and Combs promised Jane that he’d take her to Turks and Caicos — the place she fell in love with Combs. But on her way to Miami before departing for the island, Combs once again brought up the idea of a male escort joining them later that night.
"I want just us,"
Jane replied.
"We need to reconnect."
By the end of the night, Jane said, a male escort had met up with them at a hotel. And during the vacation, a male escort joined them in the Caribbean, resulting in a further fight.
At some point, Jane said she and Combs entered into a
"love contract"
. a two-year deal that Jane said reflected the time she dated Combs without any sort of arrangement. The contract included a monthly allowan
