Both have confirmed they were together and on the season three DVDs I listened to the DVD commentary and the guy says the break-up scene was really hard for them to do because they were together and so in love at the time. (This was a UK edition but assuming they have the same special features)

There's absolutely no doubt that she dated Brendan Fehr for a while. They were photographed together numerous times and spoke about their relationship. Furthermore she later married Devon Gummersall who played Sean in Season two. Her feelings on the romantic pairing of Michael and Maria have no bearing, whatsoever on her relationship with the actor who played Michael.

She never ever was dating someone from Roswell. In fact, she didn't even like the MArie/Michael pairing (on the extras of the DVD).
