Well, it's not always about what race is the majority; it's about what race has power, whether it's the majority race or not. Just look at South Africa and it's history of apartheid.

Well not to offend you or anything, but if you read your sociology book, majority is based on status not how many there are. Caucasian will always be the majority, b/c they supposedly have the hire status. About your race, I still say it doesn't make any sense to call yourself black if you're only a little black. That's like someone Chinese saying they2000're black. It just doesn't pan out.

Whatever he chooses to consider himself. I don't care if he calls himself Black, Asian, or Bi-racial. It's up to him.
As for this country being based on race, it always will be as long as one race is a majority. If you add up all the minority races in this country, white people are still the majority. To me, none of it matters. How I identify myself should not cause anyone else discomfort. In my opinion, I am Black, and I look Black. People have assumed I'm many things, including Hispanic, but I don't get offended or feel slighted because of it. Only I can define me. I choose not to define anyone else.

Who cares what Montel Williams considers himself? It's his prerogative to say whatever he wants. That's the whole point. Who are you to tell me I can't consider myself Black? Why should I have to consider myself Bi-Racial to satisfy someone else? I have the right to do whatever I want, and not that it's any of your business, I have dated other races. Unlike you, I'm not hung up on racial heritage.
Also, it doesnt matter that Montel says hes quarter racial. The US government considers him a Black man, even if he chooses not to identify himself that way.

Oh yeah one more thing. Montel Williams said that his mother is half black and half white. But he refers to himself as quarter racial; not blackOh yeah and lemme guess; you only date black men right?

I'm not prejidice. I just think ppl should admit to who they are. And if you have that much Native Am. in you, why don't you consider yourslef Native Am.? You're obviously mixed if your black, white, and Native Am., but why do you call yourself black? I just don't get that.

Fit in? With who? Give me a break. There is nothing so great about any race that I would try to identify with them just to "fit in." My mother is Native-American/Sicilian, and my father is Native-American/Black. I consider myself a woman of color, and I was raised to appreciate all of my heritage. Accept it or don't, but don't put your biases and opinions out as the way things are. I do not have to say I'm bi-racial to satisfy you or anyone else. You are far too hung up on how people identify with their heritage. In my opinion, the views you have expressed make you seem a little prejudiced.

It's not far back for me either, but I challenge anyone to tell me what I'm supposed to consider myself. Give me a break. I identify with my Native American, African-American, and Sicilian heritage.
