As I watched the pilot to "Awake" this morning, I was thinking they TOTALLY missed the boat 10 years ago by not casting Jason Isaacs as Bond. I never thought of him as Bond until now. He would have made a perfect Bond!
Daniel Craig has one more movie after Skyfall so we're not looking at a new Bond until probably 6 to 8 years from now. That would put Mr. Isaacs in his mid-50's. Unfortunately, there's zero chance that they would cast him.
So unfortunate I think he could been an incredible Bond!
(I do have mixed emotions though had they cast him, we would never have gotten Daniel Craig - which would have been extremely unfortunate)

Jason Isaacs is currently 51 years old and looks much younger.
Roger Moore played Bond from age 46 to age 58.

Yeah, if Craig hadn't been cast, I think Isaccs would have been a pretty awesome Bond, he is a little old but he has aged damn well.

Yes, Daniel Craig has a multi-picture deal he was contracted for 4 Bond films. He has stated from the beginning that he will do 4 and nothing could persuade him to do a 5th.
Responding to some of the other posters. I had not thought of Jason as a possible villain.
That would be awesome! However, he has played some notable bad guys I feel like it would be trite to cast him as a bad guy in a 007 film. Still. I would be happy to see what they do with it!

Against Craig-would be interesting. They played gay lovers in the London stage production of Angels in America long time ago.

I was gunning for him as Bond, was so disappointed when they cast Craig. Actually Craig has turned out OK, really fits with the gutsy fight scenes, but.JI would have been just as good, and crucially better looking.

yeah I agree, he would have been a great Bond, but I do like Daniel Craig as well so not too sad.
But it would have been nice to have them both if it was possible.
