There was no way she was gonna tolerate being just his girlfriend after the time she had invested and after being ripped apart by the media. But he wasn't acting, so she got pregnant. She wasn't the first go do this and definitely not the last.
I would hate to think that I had to do that to get a man to commit.

I think the reasons are obvious. To give the baby a stable childhood and father. To avoid being sued. To protect his and Marla's famous reputations. Since they divorced just a few years later, I don't think there were more reasons than that. I'd like to know what reason they gave to divorce, though.
