Regardless of what some heartless idiots have postedAnthony Minghella
was a fine filmmaker. Of the 6 feature films he's done, 3 are very good to
excellent. Cold Mountain, The Talented Mr. Ripley & The English Patient will
all stand the test of time. I was saddened to hear of his passing.

Agreed. He was a phenomenal director and was lost too soon, but at least he was able to give us a few amazing films that will stand the test of time

Agreed. What a legacy he has left with so few films. He was a great, great talent. The English Patient is one of my all time faves. And what a difficult story to do! And he did it so beautifully. So sad he died too young.

Agreed! Met him a few times, and was always very down to earth and very polite, he definitely wasn't your average star director - the amtmosphere was ab68lways a little awkward - perhaps it was my lack of knowledge compared to his almighty talents.. who knows.. Big hug to his mum!
P.S. Everytime I look over to the Island now, it feels funny.
