<p dir="auto">During production of "In The Heat Of The Night," Carroll O'Connor<br />
wrote scripts for several episodes along with two tv movies. He<br />
wrote under the pseudonym because he felt that his scripts would<br />
not be well received by critics. He also directed some episodes<br />
of the show though was credited using his real name.<br />
