Still wondering how she didn't get an Emmy for AHS Asylum. But American Crime Story has been getting a lot of attention so let's hope she finally wins the Emmy she deserves.

Clupo154, I think she's had a slow build. She got started doing some good ensemble work in TV - "Jack and Jill" for instance. She was the lead in "Leap in Faith" but it was kind of a tamer, Sex in the City copycat and didn't last. Had more success in ensemble work such as on Studio 60 and Deadwood. And of course some film work along the way. She has that Hollywood "curse" of being smart-attractive rather than typical gorgeous babe so of course dumb Hollywood doesn't always know what to do with her..
but now with things like her work on American Horror Story & the OJ miniseries & more film work (such as small roles in "Carol") and occasional theater, her slow build continues but it's building further. The great thing is that she is pretty much guaranteed for a LONG career rather than being some pretty face flash-in-the-pan.

She is FIERCE in every single movie and every single TV Show she is in. How Hollywood hasn't been banging on her door for years blows my mind.

I also liked the little smile she gave Johnny Cochran (in an earlier episode) when he realized that she h16d0ad strategically placed Christopher Darden as 3rd chair.

I completely agree. She's fabulous! She's been the best part of the show so far.
