Apparently, she was considered for the part. Don't get me wrong Carrie Fisher was great. So spunky and intelligent. But, princess Leia is supposed to be beautiful Luke immediately falls in love with her 6 inch hologram. Carrie Fisher is quite attractive, but doesn't have the breathtaking, other worldly beauty of Jane Seymour. She would have been so stunning and regal as princess Leia.
