I get the feeling, too, that she seems to have more range in her voice than she did in some of her earlier work.</p>

<p dir="auto">It's not my favorite album, but it's not my least favorite either. The song I listen to most from Gung Ho is New Party, which I think is GENIUS.</p>

<p dir="auto">I love it.  It is one of my favorites, although when it comes to "favorite Patti Smith albums" that is somewhat like picking a favorite child.  Her voice has definitely gotten better in my opinion.   She is deserving of all the accolades showered upon her.</p>
