mike tyson is a great entertainer and one of the best heavy weights of all time (my favorite is foreman) but HEAVYWEIGHTS stopped using the overhead punch in this weight class, the kind of thing a six foot five guy wouldn't want the average sized man to know about because it works better (harder to see and more foreceful) on a bigger guy negating much of the size advantage. all this cuz one guy didn't like it despite being an average height man. it's ridiculous quite frankly. other weight calsses they slip it in once in a while but if you were against tommy hearns it changes the game. the only way you lose is if no one has an appreciation for it but for what it did to the other guy it should give big points. if you can imagine the force behind that punch and how it hits.
the mental elimination of this technique from boxing has changed so much that now the stereotypical 5'9" 190 lb man is now much taller and ten pounds more.
I favor this technique personally and i am not a conventional boxer by any means so it really bugs me. i don't blame the man but i just do not understand how this could be. he never said a bad word about it as far as i know.
