I personally find it a little strange that a man in his early 50s would want to be with a girl who hasn't even graduated high school yet. I want to believe this is a publicity stunt, but maybe he has the mentality of a ditzy teen and they're perfect for each other.

Yes, my examples are 'dated', but my point is they were all ADULTS, when they "dated" these girls. And yes, Brad & Juliette started dating during the filming of 1990's "Too Young too Die?" Juliette was 15(almost 16) in 1989 during filming, & Brad was about 25/26, & Brad also dated his 15 year old "Dallas" co-star Shalene McCall in the late-80s. Of course, no one was creeped out because Brad was in his mid-20s, & still playing "teen" roles at the time.
What I find hypocritical is when Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 year old cousin, & he was HATED, & his career nearly ruined for it. And Elvis only "dates" a 14 yr. old Priscilla & no one blinks an eye over it. I personally don't approve of any adult dating or married anyone under 18, but Doug Hutchison's marriage to his now 17 year old wife is considered LEGAL, so if there5b4 are no laws broken, its really none of our business, but theirs.

Well first of all; all of your examples(with the exception of Brad and Julie) are kind of dated. Secondly; Elvis was very far away from 50 when he married Priscilla. (Poor guy actually never made it to 50)

Well when you look at the big picture, that is to take in history or even current cultures, the actual age thing has varied widely over time and space.
In Elizabethan times (think Shakespeare or about early 1600's) girls as young as 12 could marry. In the US girls as young as 12 and 13 can get married today in a couple of states with consent. There's
no
minimum age in Mississippi with judicial consent.
I'm sure Neanderthals married even earlier.
This marriage is weird for reasons unrelated to age!
