I had never watched The Black Donnelleys but stated streaming it on Netflb68ix a few days ago. I'm looking at "Tommy" and knowing he reminds me of someone..but couldn't place him. Decided he reminded me of a young Sean Penn (not specifically in looks, but overall presence)decided to look up his filmography and wow! He plays "Bob Little" on Parenthood! Totally different character!
I know some people consider great acting to be when an actor can totally transform himself physically or with make-up or use an accent effectively. But I always thought the sign of a great actor is someone who can play two different characters WITHOUT major physical or vocal transformations and be totally believable as both to the point of the audience forgetting their previous roles while watching.
I am an avid Parenthood fan and have seen every episode- although Bob Little is not a major character, he has been in a significant # of episodes. I never once saw "Bob Little" in "Tommy".
Wonder if anyone who had watched The Black Donnellys first was amazed when encountering "Bob Little" on Parenthood.
