I am watching "24" now, and she is just terrible in it! There isn't a single moment where she doesn't overact.
But then, of course, the guy playing her son is downright cringeworthy.

Sorry, meant also to point out that 24 has made better use by far of the split screen technique than anyone else I've seen. Great work!

Ever since about the fourth season of 24, I have used it to measure other films by, both movies and TV. Too many series and movies fall short in the area of writing, as if it is the least important element of the production. 24, while it has it's flawed moments, is incredibly well written, especially considering the real time element. All of the production elements are top notch. And what has surprised me most is that nearly all of the acting is superior to most other shows, even the bit parts.
When I watched the season with Ms. Aghdashloo, I was spellbound by her acting. She is, in my opinion, one of the best actors in the entire series. The control as she goes from the psychopathic terrorist to the terrified mother is wonderful. I can think of few actors who are so expressive with their eyes - she does more acting with her eyes than most actors do with their whole bodies.
And what does the degree of huskiness in a voice have to do with anything? I've seen some with husky voices who can't act worth beans, and others, like her, who use that same kind of voice to great effect. Give credit where it's due.
I'm always glad to see actors who were in 24 move on to other roles. 24 has given a boost to many, many actors and actresses over the years. Kudos to 24 and to those who have contributed to it. And kudos to Ms. Aghdashloo.

And when she was on 24 she was 52 years old! So either I say to Yakko, "For Shame for thinking like that" or 'there's hope for Grannies to be glamorous'; Anyway, even now, 10 years later, she is so effortlessly elegant in all her parts & her interviews.
Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?
