I think John Amos is such a manly man. When he was in Good Times I used to think he was sooo sexy. Watching reruns I am reminded of his manliness!

I always thought John Amos has a ton of natural charm and easiness in front of the camera. Whenever I'd see him outside of Good Times, I'd just smile and think, I like that guy.
I wouldn't say his acting was A-list, but he was very easy to watch and fun to recognize.
I'm not a woman much less Deanna Durbin, but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.

I agree. John Amos is a very rugged and masculine guy. He was especially strong and impressive as Seth in "The Beastmaster." He was likewise excellent in "Die Hard 2." And he was very funny in "Coming to America." He's an extremely talented actor who can do comedy and drama with equal skill and conviction.

I think that James Evan is the ideal guy most women go for despite his temper at times. He was very masculine and not a wimp, women respond to that.

Good Times wasn't the same after James was killed off. The show was still watchable and humorous, but it just wasn't the same. He made the show worth watching and if he was around for the last three seasons, the show would have probably lasted longer, maybe even up to the 1980's, but I guess we will never know what would have happened if John Amos's character killed off.

The episode Good Times officially ended was the episode that they killed James off in the car wreck. I have absolutely no desire to watch after that. James Evans has to be considered one of the top 7 or 8 fathers every portrayed on television.

John Amos did an excellent job of playing James Evans. his character was so strong and loving even with his temper you could tell his character truly loved and wanted what was best for his family.
I am happy to see his career is still going strong as well as it should because he is such a g5b4reat talent.
I wonder if any of the stars view these boards to see what people think of them.
if he does view this..Mr.Amos you are one of my favorite actors.peace and love to you always.

What difference does it makes if a man thinks another man is good looking? I'm am woman, But it seems that men that find that men makes comments about another man holds some insecurity about their own sexuality! So relax guys, their plenty of animals in the animal kingdom that are homosexual anyway. Besides, James is HOTT!
