I liked him the best in Good Times. Heard he left because Jimmie Walker was viewed as the star of the show, but I like John Amos. I also missed it when the mother left. The show was still good after that, but not like it had been. I've been watching the reruns.

When I think of Good Times, I think of John AmosHands down the starThe show was completely different without hima large void that no other actor could fill.. Whether or not he orchestrated his release to star in "Roots" is something that only John knows Growing up and to this day, I call him "The Great Amos".
