He's a fine person, too. I worked on Good Times and recall there being a dispute over him stealing flowers from another patient to give to Florida when she was in the hospital. He said, "John would not steal," and refused to do it.

I agree, I watched him as a kid on "Good Times" and "Roots" and many other shows including "The West Wing", and the Characters that he played have always been great.. One of my all-time favorite TV actors
