Actually, most English people are non-religious nowadays. Religion isn't big over here anymore.
There are many religious people, but they are in the minority.
You may be thinking of Ireland, who's population are made up mostly of Catholics and Protestants.

I actually don't know. His mother is English, and most English people are protestants, so that would be my guess. If he ain't religious, then he might be agnostic.
