So, I'm reading a news story and a side picture of Jay North as Dennis the Menace catches my eye.
I look closer and see it is one of those 'sponsored' news items so instead of clicking it, I look up Jay on IMDB.
Under 'Trivia' the first entry says Jay is active in Paul Petersen's "A Minor Consideration".
I look up Paul Petersen on IMDB and see that his first wife was Brenda Benet and that Brenda was seeing Bill Bixby before Paul and Brenda divorced.
I look up Brenda on IMDB and find out she married Bill soon after divorcing Paul, got divorced by Bill ten years later after having his son, then committed suicide months after her son died and a couple of years after the divorce from Bill.
BTW: the son died during a skiing trip they were on with a bi male friend of hers. A sudden and rare throat infection they called it (early '80's during the rage of AIDS and deaths from rare opportunistic diseases) is what he died from.
Brenda's body was found by her lesbian lover.
I looked up Bill and find that he and Brenda first met when she was 18, years before she married Paul.
I also find that Bill and costar Brandon Cruz (Courtship of Eddie's Father) had a close working and personal relationship since being on TV together.
So I looked up Brandon and find that he is a charter member of "A Minor Consideration".
Jay once said, "Goodbye, Hollywood. Thanks for nothing."
Paul maintains, "Hollywood would save Bosnia before the life of a single child actor."
Brandon claims, "you could not pay anybody to say a bad word about Bill. He was giving to a fault, basically."
Could you pay anybody NOT to say a bad word about Bill?

Sorry that I didn't check this sooner, T C Sage.
The point, exactly, is that I am a super fan of Bixby's.
And as a super fan, I am reeling from the revelations IMDB affords all of us as fans of people who are perhaps not worthy of adulation. The person I created in my mind as Bill Bixby had totally nothing to do with the person known publicly as Bill Bixby, and that more than saddens me since I am now almost as old as he was when he died.
Now that IMDB is pulling the plug on these message boards, I wonder what role my post here may or may not have played in the decision. Of all the years in play, this is the year it will end. After this comment. And for the reasons they give.
Hollywood Babylon connotes a decadent atmosphere. My comment instructs how to trace that decadence while communicating it worldwide. Ending the message boards silences the tracers and places the decadence back behind its curtains.
We will be enslaved once again to looking up Jay this year, Bill the next, but never communicating the sinister connection between them (their six degrees of separation); never giving a thought to those whose lives were wrecked in between.

And your point is what exactly?
