https://www.datalounge.com/thread/18281685-flush-your-acting-career-down-the-toilet!
Robert Blake. He got recognition for his portrayal of Perry Smith in "In Cold Blood" but his career was nothing much until he got the lead in the tv series "Baretta." It was a success and he won an Emmy and for a while had a career in television. But he keep clashing with tv executives, was considered a troublemaker and eventually the roles dried up. He became involved with a crazy woman who was obsessed with latching onto celebrities; she got pregnant and he married her. She ended up shot to death. He was arrested for her murder but was acquitted. He was found guilty of her death in civil court, and was told to pay millions in restitution. He's 84 years old now. Blake is a good example of how to ruin your life, but it's easy to understand why; he had a horrible, miserable childhood that no doubt scarred and traumatized him for life, hence his poor choices and self destructiveness. It's a shame; he did have acting talent.

I think it's because he's been reputed to be difficult to work with and for. Didn't the producers have that problem with him on "Baretta"?

Zevan,
Your well thought out and coherent response will likely be lost on the OP. His/her name really does describe his/her personality. Simplemindedsociety routinely asks moronic and/or loaded questions that a person who has just undergone a fr2000ontal lobotomy could correctly answer. Simpleminded then proceeds to argue with the answerer of said moronic and/or loaded questions for (what I assume) his/her own merriment. If Simplesimon isn't asking moronic questions, he/she is posting rather fucked up opinions and/or observations about celebrities' lives (they're all living them wrong!), sexuality (all are secretly gay, bisexual or just being labeled as hetero by crazy breeders), manner of death (if murdered, they had it coming. Suicide? They did it wrong/are going to hell/someone shoulda stopped them! Natural death? They did it wrong), personalities (they're all mean, too nice), color of their poop..you know, really deep sht that only a real intellectuals ponder.
In other words, the OP is a huge troll. Do what the rest of us do, put his/her silly ass on ignore. If you don't, you'll see Simpledumpter's handiwork on nearly ever damn board this site has. (S)he is a butthurt dweller and really does have that kind of time on their hands.

Probably because many people think he murdered his wife. Even though the jury found him not guilty, many people still think he is. Once people make up their minds someone is guilty, they choose to think their own thoughts about it and not focus on what the jury decided. They probably also think he's a nut, he acts like it most of the time. He said he'd like to have a good part offered to him, so it sounds like he is willing & acts like he needs the money.

There aren't a lot of roles for a late 70s male actor unless you're Clint. I'm sure Bobby's name never even comes up when a casting director starts looking for actors and Bobby is probably kind of picky and wouldn't just do anything either. We could probably name dozens of actors who had hit TV shows in the 70s and are still around and healthy but are off hollywood's radar.
