Her books are great to read, but to create them and deal so openly and honestly about teenaged sexuality would be hard to "see" and create.
I think if they were to make a faithful adaptation, the tone of the films would be more in fitting with Todd Solondz and Noah Baumbach's the Squid and the Whale and Margot at the Wedding - very dark humoured films, but probably creating a lot of controversy to see Deenie masturbating in a tub, the lead 12-year old character in "Then Again, Maybe I Won't" masturbating to an older girl at the window, or 2 pre-teen girls rubbing against each other.
Obviously that's not what the books are about, but I don't think it can be denied that discovering sexuality is a big part about Judy Blume's books and their appeal. So glossing over those parts would be a big injustice to her writing.
