In my bestfriend-relationship, I am definitely more of a Ewan. I am overly sensitive, sometimes hypocritical, I never kill animals or bugs, I always manage to get bitten by bugs, and I (not to sound vain) am more attractive. My eyes also change color like Ewan's do. I also think I deserve more attention than my friend.
Oh God, I sound like a b**** right now! And I'm making Ewan sound like a b**** too!
Sorry Ewan

I saw Charley in Serpents Kiss [1997] with Ewan, but really didn't pay much attention.
Ewan is my obsession.
But, after Long Way Round and Long Way Down, I have come to know Charley better and he is really a funny and sweet guy, and it is great that Ewan and Charley are such great friends.
I love their documentaries They complement each other so well.
I wish they would do another film together. I am sure they can fit motorcycles in the storyline somewhere!!
Ewan is still my favorite, but I do adore Charley.

It is. I'd never heard of Charley Boorman to be honest.I knew of Ewan, being that I"m a Star Wars finatic. Being a motorcyclist, I bought LWR, and also grew quite fond of Charley. I've watched it four times since June of this year. I've also been trying to find some of his movies(hard to find.

My dad and I are motorcycle enthusiasts - him much more than I, but I don't as yet have a licence so i'm playing pillion until then. But we go on long bike trips and take all the time we want to explore our country, and it's a wonderful father-and-daughter bonding experience. Anyway, I introduced him to
Long Way Round
and we both love the show. We hold Ewan and Charley in the highest regard. We think our bike trips are challenging - our adventures are a piece of pi$$ compared to what these two have endured. We also enjoy seeing the camaraderie between Ewan and Charley. We can both see that these two will be best mates for life.
Go take a step outside - see whats shaking in the real world.

Well the only reason I began watching the show was because of Ewan of course so I guess I should thank him for introducing us to the wonderful Charley - LOL!
I just bought the book that the guys wrote and I'm about halfway through and now I'm sure that I'm the "Charlie" in my friendship. My best friend is thin and tall and prettier than me and she's usually a little quieter than I. While I'm a bit shorter, chubbier and definitely enjoy making people laugh. But in the book Charley also comes to terms with the fact that he is in fact a "worrier" (as he puts it) and when I read that part I laughed out loud because that is precisely how I describe myself sometimes - definitely a worrier!! Also he sometimes has a short temper and I can be accused of that too. So I guess that's why I like hime so much, because I can totally relate to him
Yes I can't wait for Race to Dakar but I haven't heard anything new since the race actually happened. I know Charlie broke his hand and couldn't finish but I still want to see it as I'm sure there's plenty of story there.and plenty more Charley to be seen!! That's all I care about!
"Long Way Round - bad hair never felt so good" - Charley

LMAO! I have to ammit when i first started watching Long Way Round it was because Ewan and the bikes. But it only took one episode for me to forget all about Ewan and I was hooked on Charlie. And now that i'm thinking about it my best friend is more of a "Charlie" and i'm more of an "Ewan". Besides that I think Charlie's down to earth (as you so perfectly put it) is what attracts me to him.
How about Race To Dakar? i can't wait til it aires, still no time on the website.

Yes it really is. When I tell people how much I like Long Way Round they usually assume that I'm panting after Ewan and that's the only reason I watch it. Don't get me wrong I like Ewan but I LOVE Charlie. He is so hysterical and very down to earth. I think he and Ewan are perfect friends. They remind me of my best friend and I - I'm the "Charlie" of our friendship I think
