I've finally just finished Long Way Round (never managed to catch it on TV), and of course Ewan looks great and cements his rep as a nice guy. But what really struck me was how much I liked Charley when I was done. This is obviously a very nice, funny guy who is also a loyal friend. I don't get why I haven't seen him in more movies. I'm a lifelong fan of his dad's work, too. So anyway, for what it's worth, a bump for Charley Boorman's board an2000d thank you (and Mr. McGregor & company) for 7 or so hour's escape and entertainment. I won't be biking around the world any time soon, and it was great informative fun watching you guys do it. Feel free to give us more adventures.
It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.

I couldn't agree more! I never got a chance to see the series when it first came out but it was being shown all weekend on some channel and I started watching it on Saturday. I missed the beginning and the end but I loved it and when I saw that it was on again yesterday I dropped everything else I had to do and watched the whole thing from beginning to end and cried right along with them when it was over.
I started liking Charley right away, he seems like a really great guy. I started watching it of course because of Ewan but I'm so glad I did because now I really like Charley too. I can't wait to see his next adventure!
I'm going to buy the DVD, the book and anything else I can get my hands on as it was such an interesting journey.
This made me laugh so hard..
