I am planning on writing a Ted Bundy based novel. Usually most of the characters I create are inspired by real life people. I am currently writing a novel called
The Taurus
(based on the Zodiac Killer and Inspector David Toschi) about a San Francisco homicide detective tracking down a serial killer known as the Taurus with the help of a reporter.
In this case, I am writing
Boondock: The Man Behind the Mask
. This one is about a charming law student named Thadeus Boondock who is also the elusive Chameleon Killer. This one is based on the fact that Anne Rule knew Bundy while the police were tracking him down and she was writing about him. In this, Anne Rule is the loose inspiration for Boondock's girlfriend, Maggie Rook. The cop tracking him down is loosely inspired by Bob Kepple.
I plan on beginning this one as soon as I complete
The Taurus
. I am looking for ideas.

Why wouldn't you want to create your own new and unique character that maybe has some composite traits from a few real life people Your character sounds like it's Ted Bundy with a different cheezy name. At the very least change the damn initials

"Thaddeus Boondock" No offense but that is an awful name for a Ted Bundy based killer. It just sounds like the author thinking he's clever with the TB initials when it's distracting and corny in reality

The Stranger Beside Me is one, that the author, Anne Rule knew Bundy personallty. As they both worked at the Seattle Crisis Hotline, at one point.

I said "loosely". I am reading
The Stranger Beside Me
right now to get an idea of how Bundy behaved.

Good luck then! Ann wasn't his girlfriend anyway. Do some more research.
