<p dir="auto">While I wasn't crazy about Pat Buttram's rustic comedy, especially as a western sidekick, his comments about making westerns with Gene Autry were great. I.E. "Gene used to ride off into the sunset and now he owns it." This of course alluded to Autry's wealth and business sense." When asked what a typical day on location was in making a western, Buttram replied "We used to work from sunup to sundownfrom can to can't." His comment about horses is classic: "Hard in the middle (saddle) and dangerous at both ends."</p>
