He was very dark in 2008ish. It was either Chewed Up or Live at Beacon Street, I can't remember which, although both of those were pretty dark, but he'd joke about very dark subject matter like rape, e.g. raping his own father, rape is never ok unless the person refuses to have sex with you, and dropping the f-bomb and referencing jerking off every minute.
But in the newer special "Oh My God," he wasn't nearly as dark. The jokes were still funny but he was like a more refined, mature Louie. I still think he's funny when he's at his darkest, although he probably doesn't have the gall to go that dark anymore now that he's a famous celebrity. Back then his career wasn't as established and he didn't have anything to lose.
You're never fully dressed without a smile.

Louis C.K. was always hard for the ladies he jerked off in front of.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

I was just at the taping of his new special in D.C at Constituional Hall. It's a lot darker than his last few specials. The whole first 15 minutes is about abortion. There's also more jerking off jokes than Oh My God or The Comedy Store special.
I'll never forget, one of my favorite jokes of Louis' comes from "Hilarious" when he's talking about f
cking a dead kid.
My favorite New York moments:
