I am so surprised that no-one has started a conversation about Mr. Cannom.
He is one of the best makeup artists around. Have you seen how many films he has worked on and is still.
I was just wondering if he still owned his company or if he was just doing freelance with Keith Vanderlan(???spelling). I know that keith worked on the Passion of Christ.
Anyone out there let me know.

I thought I read that he did his own makeup for it, as did any other makeup artist who appeared in it. Fangoria did an article about it when it was released in 1983.

I agree he is a great makeup artist. He really scares the pants off me as that very final zombie in Thriller! Did he do his makeup for that cameo? Or was it Rick Baker?

I feel sure he's won at least one and most likely more than one. He's amazing.

I always get annoyed when aging makeup is done badly. (See Promethius-Bad Grandpaet al.)
Its all about gravity and saggy, loose skin and no-one understands this more than Greg Cannom. His aging of Cate Blanchetts face in The curious Case of Benjamin Button makes a good case for this. It really is the most convincing makeup I've ever seen and this is why I googled it and found this page.

He is a living legend and has given great effects, especially his contribution to the Vampires Movies:
Vamp
The Lost Boys
Fright Night 2
Subspecies
Dracula
Blade
Vanhelsing
Make up is better than some of the movies though.
