So far I've yet to see him in something where he either doesn't nail his role or transcend it entirely. He was solid in a small role in "Walk in the Clouds". His comedic turn in "Can't Hardly Wait" was hilarious (especially when he's talking about his g/f's parents having mirrors above their bed) and he had a great impression in a tiny role in Payback. Then recently I saw him in Bottle Shock and he was very good.
This guy deserves a lot more roles but that's hispanics in Hollywood for you. He will need to probably go off-screen and do some dramatic stage work before he gets taken seriously like Leguizamo did. Unfair but that's a tough glass ceiling to crack.

He is very underrated. Take it from me. I grew up with this guy, Freddy has always been giving it 200% in what ever he does. Latino's in this industry have to go threw hurdles before any recognition.

Completely agree, this guy does nail all of his roles, completely believable in everything I have seen him in.
Loved him in Harsh Times and Planet Terror.

Agreed! Watching him in Havoc right now. Crap film, but Freddy is great, much bigger and better than the film.

I came across this thread as I watch Harsh Times right now, and it's because i'm having the same reaction. I liked him before, but he really earned my respect and interest after with this one. Along with Bale, definitely the brightest light in an otherwise average movie.

Agree with you. Freddy Rodriguez is highly underrated. I think he's producing now trying to find projects that suit his need as an actor. I can't wait for him to get more recognition.
