I'm not trying to make fun of her, but I am seriously surprised that she is still alive. I'm sure being that heavy has to cause some MAJOR health problems, and she's no spring chicken. Just an observation

It seems she has lost the weight at least a few times over the yrs. And gained some back due to illness/being bed ridden.

I actually thought she was wearing a fat suit and wanted to look up what actress played in it.
Hand to God did not know she was actually that overweight.
And yes, thought she'd be dead ten years.

Yeah, I just saw Gilbert Grape again and I thought there's not a chance she's still alive. At first I thought it was some prostethic make-up job though, because there was a prostethic make-up guy in the credits.
I'm not trying to be mean, but if she's still that heavy it's just pure luck that she's still alive.
