The mother was in Ted's "class" the first day he taught (when he started lecturing in the wrong room), but he didn't meet her then. Wouldn't he notice his ex-fiance in the room?

just finished watching episode 6 of season 4 and it's pretty clear she's not the mother.
In fact I'm glad, hated how stella was all bitchy on Ted

I don't think she's the mother but I wouldn't mind seeing her come back for a few more episodes of "How I Met Your Mother".

Scrubs was made by ABC in the first place and shown on NBC so I don't see how that would keep her from being in a CBS show.

I just hope that the fact that Scrubs got picked up by ABC doesnt do anything to stop her from being the mom

They did the red harring stuff with Robbin in the first season and then he says to the kids thats your Aunt Robbin. So there could be an older daughter that knows the story and dosen't sit on the couch.

I agree about the creators changing their minds, for one thing Sarah Chalke would be the perfect mother, she's got comedic talent and good chemistry with Josh Radnor. Second, ideally HIMYM would go one for another couple years so if they keep dragging out the mother thing like they did this year with red-herrings and "clues" if would just get annoying. Lost can pull that stuff for a several seasons, a sitcom can't.

I like Sarah Chalke, and I agree that she fits well with HIMYM. She could be the mother, but she has a daughter. Unless the girl on the couch, who looks younger than her brother, is Stella's daughter then I fear she is another red herring. I would like to see her as the mother though.

Whether or not she does turn out to be the mother I do hope Sarah Chalke does appear in the show again. She was very good in the episode and you know from her time in Scrubs that she is a wonderful comedic actress too, so I don't think she'd be out of step with HIMYM.

She said she only got out once that whole year and it was St. Patrics day and that was the ep. No Tomorrow where the yellow umbrella showed up again. So I too think she is the Mother.

I'm right there with you. And I've heard rumors that she will be.
