<p dir="auto">When Londoners hear an accent like Tom's, what do they think?  Do they immediately think "Manchester" or what?  I've never been east of Boston so I'm not that familiar of British accents.</p>

<p dir="auto">In actuality Tom is a Yorkshireman, his accent in "Billy Liar" is probably closest to his real accent, though being an excellent actor he can do almost any accent.</p>

<p dir="auto">Depends what he's playing. He can do actors' posh (received pronunciation) with the best of them. And I think he sounded like a Londoner in Last Orders.<br />
