She is the perfect example of how someone can only look good and act terribly to make it in the industry. Her acting was atrocious in both, "Reanimator" and "From Beyond." But, i drooled just looking at her, especially in, "re-animator."
Before you fanboys/girls start getting all hostile towards me, it's just my opinion and you have your own. If you don't agree with me, be constructive and adult about it. I do tire of fanboys/girls who get bent out of shape over someone they never met.

She's grown though quite a bit.
In the 80's I think she wasn't the best, although she seemed to have fun with her roles and was fun to watch.
I just watched the recent movie We Are Still Here and her acting was top-notch. I think she sort of matured into becoming a great actress over the years.

She was extremely excellent in that scene with Kathleen Kinmont in Fraternity Vacation showing off their super beautiful bodies.

Outside of horror films, Crampton was mainly a soap opera actress, and it's hard to break out of that rut. Robin Wright, James Franco, and a couple of others did, but it's very hard.

I liked her performance in From Beyond quite a bit and really haven't seen her give a "terrible" performance in anything.

She's actually a decent actress, based on the types of films she's in.
Is she good enough to be in Oscar nominated films, perhaps not, but she's over qualified IMO for some of the B grade stuff she's been in.

Yes she did act very well in those low budget films. That is good to hear that she acted until she retired and I know what you mean on some doing a few films and then leaving the business.

What I mean is - she delivered good acting in those low budget movies. There was tons of other hot girls who disappeared after doing 1-3 films(bit parts usually). Barbara still acts after so many years, even though she is pretty much retired as an actress.

She was really good in her prime time. I mean those were low budget horror movies and she was really good in them. She was more of an eye candy in 'Reanimator' but she did her own in quite a few other flicks, including cool thriller 'Kidnapped'.
