I think that Mr. Cundieff is such an under-utilized talent. I wish I could see more movies from this writer-director. Fear of A Black Hat is so creative that it is on my must see list of incredible movies. I place him with my fav of favsImitation of Life (the 1937 version), She's Gotta Have It, Stormy Weather, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Jesus Christ Superstar. Just absolutely so different and so original that nothing can compare to these films for me. But that is just me. My fantasy film would have Mr. Cundieff, Katt Williams, John Witherspoon, the always incredible Joe Torrey, Queen Latifah and Monique. But sigh.A girl can dream can't she?

I always turn people on to "Fear of a Black Hat". Its like Airplane no one saw. Chris Rock made CB20 which totally overshadowed his masterpiece. CB20 was uneven but parts were funny. CB20 was made for millions with a real studio. "Fear of a Black Hat" was made for $988,000 if I remember Mr.Cundieff commentary on the DVD correctly.
Glad to see he has been working in TV etc. That is normal and frankly it means he is a huge success in Hollywood. Most writers only have one great book in them, and they never even write it.
Hell he directed on the Chappelle show, which I think of as the USA's Monty Python.
I wish you many more great movies Mr. Condieff. In the mean time I think TV directing probably pays 100 times what I make.
You are a very funny guy.
