Why does this have to be done? What is inherently wrong with a white man playing a white character? It's not a "white man fetish", but I see no reason why everything has to diversified. M was changed to a female, Moneypenny and Leiter were changed to black characters, isn't that enough?

I'll go a step further and say that Bond NEEDS to be black to counter the racist imperialism inherent in the entire franchise up to now.
After that, a new series should be developed that wittily subverts and dismantles the whole patriarchal fantasy that inspired "Bond World" in the first place. But alas, we may not see that for many more decades to come, if ever.

I think it a black James Bond will happen sooner rather than later. It's just stupid at this point. I wouldn't mind if the character needed to be white but it doesn't matter - all the actor needs is to look decent in a suit, be good at action and be able to flirt with the ladies.

I agree either himself or Idris Elba would be great Bonds but he can also be a chilling villain as well just as he was in Serenity for example.
