Rebecca Ferguson is in early talks to co-star with Michael Fassbender in Working Title and Universals The Snowman.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy helmer Tomas Alfredson will direct the film written by Soren Sveistrup.
The Snowman is produced by Working Title Films in association with Alfredsons Another Park Film. Working Titles Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce alongside Piodor Gustafsson.
The film revolves around Harry Hole (played by Fassbender), a detective who has been featured in 10 of Jo Nesbos novels. Described as a loose cannon in the Oslo police force, Hole investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman.
When Working Title originally optioned the book, the idea was to make create a series similar to the Alex Cross films that have starred Morgan Freeman and most recently Tyler Perry.
Martin Scorsese, who was circling the project at one point, is executive producing alongside Nesbo and Niclas Salomonsson, who also represents Nesbo. Working Titles Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger are also executive producers.
Ferguson is riding high after her breakout performance in Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation, having already landed a lead role in the adaptation of the bestseller The Girl on the Train opposite Emily Blunt.
Ferguson is one of Varietys 10 Actors to Watch in 2015.
She is repped by ICM Partners and Tavistock Wood Management. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

Another high-profile production, and opposite Fassbender too way to go Rebecca!
If her name is already up on the film's page, doesn't that mean she's already confirmed?
