Hangover Square
. It is all about Hamilton's obsessive thwarted love for Fitzgerald

Patrick Hamilton's later, intense, (drink-sodden) bleak, expressionist novels were highly praised by Graham Greene and JB Preiestley.

This is pretty sad, OP. Hamilton is the one who seems more like a bitch in that book's case.
Geraldine was supposed to embrace all men who talked to her? So either a bitch or a whore; eh?

I had no idea of the book until my curiosity was piqued by the heading of this thread."She must be a bitch" for me to look into it.
If Fitzgerald was the inspiration for Netta, than wow-wasn't the type of woman I'd expect.
It is often said of a woman scorned-but in this case it would be Hamiltons fury

Hamilton's brother has written of the intimate relationship between Fitzgerald and Hamilton.

Even if it were true, how would that make her a bitch? Perhaps you are confusing this with The Midnight Bell, which is said to be about Hamilton's infatuation with a prostitute.
I would be interested to learn where you got your information, and especially why you would call this lady a bitch, contrary to everything else written about her.
I guess it's like looking at clouds. You see one thing and I see another. Peace.
