I thought Sunshine was beyond amazing, so how's the Tesseract?

Tesseract is a great read. His best book, in my wee opinion. A relentless, breakneck pace throughout. Steer clear of the movie thoughit's the pits.

Yeh 'The Beach' is definitely a brilliant book. It's amazing how he captures such a believable atmosphere of Thailand in words.
Althought the movie may not have been as good, it was still enjoyable to watch for me and deserves more than a 6.2 rating.
I haven't read The Tesseract btw, so can't help there.
