I'm old enough to remember Christopher George as a popular character actor- and sometimes leading man on TV programming. He was also well known for his marriage to the beautiful actress Linda Day (George).
My first, in-person exposure to "celebrities" was in the mid 1970's, when this couple visited my small, humble, home town in southern Illinois for a local cancer fund-raising event. My dad was a local physician, and I was asked (as a teen) to usher the celebrity guests to their seats. Both Christopher and Linda were very kind, humble guests. An unforgettable memory.
