does she ever have starring roles in movies? I only can recall her as playing side characters - important side characters - but still just a side character.
the biggest role I've personally seen her in was as Mrs. Farmer in Donnie Darko.

.
I just watched it. I've seen her so many times before but never really noticed her until the role in
Sordid Lives
. Hard to believe it's the same person as played the character she portrayed in
Donnie Darko
. She's pretty amazing.
She would have been good for a character on
True Blood

Well she is a character actress. I think Sordid Lives she has a major part in.
