For one main reason,
She talked way too damn much during the Donnie Darko commentary.
When the beautiful Jenna Malone's charater was being introduced on screen she just kept talking, it was really agrivating.
I wanted Jenna to say something, I wanted her to introduce her character
Anyone else who has heard the DD commentary agree??

I didn't think she was talking too much? I was quite entertained by everything she had to say. To be honest it seemed like Jena was being quiet and didn't have much to say I don't blame that on Beth Grant.

Commentary's are good. On the original, the director points out things that you (or maybe just me) would have never paid attention to, like at the very beginning when Donnie is bicycling back home, Frank drives right past him in the red Firebird/TA.
Also, at the end, when Frank is honking his horn after dropping of Maggie G., the director comments that Frank is honking to Donnie saying something like, "Wake up Donnie! We made it. You don't have to die!" or something similar. Without the commentary, you think that Frank was honking to Maggie saying "goodnight".
During the Sparkle Motion's dance at the talent show, the director comments that the girls originally dance to Weekend Girls, not to Notorious by Duran Duran because they couldn't get the rights to that song. Speaking of copyrights, they guys were supposed to be shooting at a Smurf stuff animal, instead of bottles, when they are talking about Smurfette and Papa Smurf jacking off to the video of the other Smurfs banging Smurfette.
Because they were 5b4on a short time span and budget, the dinner table sequences were shot all at once, so they had to change clothes and put a different plate on the table and pretend to eat that, too, after the each scene was done.
But I don't want to spoil it for you. Take a listen when you get a chance. Then watch it with the other commentary, too.

Interesting. I have both DVDs but haven't gotten around to hearing the commentaries yet. I gotta give a listen sometime.

Oh okay. But if it's just to hear Mrs. Farmer hog all the mike time, forget it.
The cast commentary was kind of funny on the original, like when the engine first hits the house and Rose Darko pops up from the bed, Maggie Gyllenhaal goes, "Nice Boobs Mary!" and they all start cracking up. I thought it was funny, too, however, since they're were so many of them on the commentary, they started talking about other stuff and it would have been better if it was interactive, but since it wasn't (meaning I couldn't interact with their conversation), it was sort of annoying after a while. The other commentary had the director and I think only Jake and was much better going into details and specifics of the movie.

I didn't notice. I always listen to the directors commentary as opposed to the "actors" commentary; there were like 6 or more people on that one, but I have the original DVD, not the Director's Cut, and I don't recall Mrs. Farmer being on the commentary.
