It is quite striking how much she looks like her Mum. The closest mother daughter that makes me do a double-take besides these two is Bette Midler and her daughter. It is so interesting how genes work! Some kids look just like one, or a mix of both or like some throw-back from many generations before.

Just saw Jennet Conant on Book TV talking about her new book about Paul and Julia Child and the War. She reminded me a lot of Mamie Gummer.

Yes, she is definitely her mother's daughter. However, she also looks a bit like Jennifer Ehle, whom I recently saw in "The Geatest", and thought was Mamie Gummer (they even talk similarly).

Meryl is still a beautiful woman but when she was young, she was unbelievably beautiful. Mamie does indeed look like her mother but doesn't have her striking beauty.

Kate Hudson don't look anything like her mother. I don't know who the father of Kate Hudson, but I'm guessing she got most of the looks from him.

No, I don't think this girl looks that much like Meryl Streep (Jennifer Ehle). Her face is a little softer. HOWEVER, I do think Natascha McElhone looks a lot like Streep.

I can definitely see how Jennifer Ehle and Meryl Streep favor. I love them both! Jennifer and her mother, Rosemary Harris, also look very much alike.

Mamie was really good in Evening. That's the only movie I've seen with her, except for House of the Spirits and Heartburn. But I don't really count those since she was a child! It will be great to follow her career.
