I'm sure that wasn't supposed to be the intention but Maggie Droopy Dog Glyllenhall was so annoying and cocky. It's hard to root for her like you could with Katie Holmes. I would have actually cared if Katie Holmes blew up.
Good point actually. I would definitely have cared a lot more if Katie Holmes got blown up. It didn't mean anything to me when Maggie was burnt to a cinder. With Katie, I would have remembered Rachel and Bruce's backstory from Batman Begins and actually felt something. It's2000 an important part of the movie but it's shock/emotional factor is wasted on me because of Maggie. She may as well have been playing a different character altogther I was that unconvinced that she was Rachel.
They should have got Natalie Portman to replace Katie Holmes. She looks more like Katie than Maggie Gyllenhaal and it wouldn't have seemed so odd when the Joker sais "Hello beautiful!"
Very true and I agree she would have been a better choice. I liked Katie in Batman Begins though and it would have been great if they got her on board. Back then I read Tom Cruise didn't want her to do the movie. Who knows really.

I agree with this too. His voice is ridiculous. I thought it was Bale for the longest time but interestingly in the IMDb trivia it says his voice was made to sound like that in post-production by Chris Nolan. You would have to say that was a bad decision. If I was an actor I don't think I would like someone messing with my performance in such a big way so I wonder how Bale felt about it.

Katie Holmes was downright awful in Batman Begins. Even for a superhero movie. I usually let overdramatic/bad acting slide in unrealistic movies that require embellished acting, but she was still terrible. I had no problem with Maggie in The Dark Knight. I can see how people would think she is ugly cos let's face it, her face isn't perfect. But I still find her beautiful because she radiates. And it comes from her beautiful eyes. She's much hotter than so called 'perfect' supermodels with no personality.

I totally agree with you and felt the same thing. I was so glad when she got blown up. Even the scene between her and Harvey when she was in one building and he was in another was annoying. I'm not a fan of Maggie, actress wise or personally. There's something about her that bothers me and I don't know what it is.
