Elizabeth Hartman was a great actress and should5b4 have become a great movie star. What a tragedy that her talent was cut short.

I couldn't agree more. I saw A Patch of Blue last night for the very first time in my life, and I loved her heartbreaking performance from the very beginning. She was extremely talented and should have become a big star. R.I.P.

she was incredible in "a patch of blue", which has become one of my all-time favorite films. it is so sad that she suffered so much that she eventually took her own life but she did leave behind some indelible performances that will live on forever. rest in peace.

I concur. Elizabeth Hartman was a terrific actress. She was especially great in "The Beguiled." Moreover, it's a reat heartbreaking tragedy that she committed suicide at the shockingly young age of 45. Rest in peace, Elizabeth Hartman; you are greatly loved and missed by your many fans.

I saw "The Beguiled" for the first time sometimes in the early 80's? and was mesmerized by the film. I agree her character was the only sympathetic character. She was beautiful in it and it's sad that she died so young. She is one of my all time favorite actresses.

Just saw "The Beguiled", distubing and sensual film. Elizabeth Hartman played her part wonderfully, the only sympathetic female in a film filled with very hateful women. When Clint gets killed in the end, the real victim is Elizabeth Hartman's character, I wonder if the director thought of killing her character too?
Like everyone else I was suprised and saddened that Elizabeth Hartman killed herself in real life. She was and is a beautiful lady, I will always have a soft spot for her.
Dad, I don't think I'm gonna do hampster style anymore
