I am surprised that there are no recent posts about her great performances in the current LINE OF DUTY series.
The series is great and her performances are wonderful and surprising for people who don't rate her as an actress.
If LINE OF DUTY was American and was on Channel 4 or SKY it would be getting even more rave reviews than it is.

I'm late to the party, just finished series 2 of LOD, she was riveting in it! Almost makes me forgive her for stealing my movie husband, Matthew Macfadyen, from me 🙂

agree with original post. she was outstanding in this. easily the best performance in the series. a great complex series and a modern day morality tale

It takes a wealth of talent to stare straight and portray deep emotion in just the eyes. You obviou2000sly can't appreciate pure talent.
Also, for overt emotional performances, did you miss the moment her face was flushed down a toilet? The shock and grief and regret circling her face and eyes in that moment was beautifully acted.

It must be a combination of the 2 things? we have all seen great actors in crap productions and crap actors in well written pieces?

Because it's the storyline, not her acting. People very confused by this.
It doesn't take acting skills to stare straight and show no emotion.
