I like Keeley, she seems a nice lady and so in love with Matthew, it makes my heart melt, cause I'm a new Matthew Macfadyen fan and wish the best marriage for him. However, I do not like it 16d0when people leave their husbands for the sake of another. This might imply that they can do it again, when somebody more dazzling will catch their eye.
But, however, sometimes we are caught in a bad relationship. I read in her pre-Macfadyen interivew that she likes being married (to the first husband) because it gives her a sense of stability. She said, that before the marriage, when they used to argue, she would think - ok, that's it, I'm off. But then they married, and now she can't be off like that. Seems then like the marriage was really problematic and a mistake, and these people didn't suit each other. In this case, leaving such a marriage was the right choice, and meeting Macfadyen only sped the matter. Or really decided her fate, cause maybe she would stay anyway and just be unhappy. So I guess I apploud her on taking her destiny in her hands and making the change, cause at least up until now, they seem to have a wonderful marriage with Matthew.

Well I think I also saw an interview that said something like it was 8 weeks after marriage that she left him. Either way a LOT happened in 1 short year (2004) - she left her husband, got witb68h Matthew and had a baby in the same year.
Your version would make way more sense and be a little less harsh - that they had been separated and she met Matthew in 2002 - then at least maybe they dated some time before bringing a life into the world.

It says here on IMDB that she married her 1st husband in 2001 and they separated after 5 months. They did have a son together in 2000. Maybe the divorce didn't become final until 2004, but they were not together for a couple of years before then.
She and MacFadyen met when they starred together on Spooks (AKA MI-5) which started in 2002.
