I read the book very recently (my first Christie novel I'm now on #3!) and to my surprise it came on ITV tonight. I settled down to watch and while the credits were rolling, saw Keeley Hawes was cast. Cue fangirl squeal - I was thrilled, didn't she play Philippa perfectly? I wish she was in more stuff, I think she's fab.

Has she been confirmed yet as Alex Drake to begin in July filming the Gene Hunt spin-off from Life On Mars, called Ashes to Ashes?

Edmund/Philippa were my favourite interactions too.
Edmund Swettenham sat down rather precariously on a garden roller.
"Good morning, Phillipa," he said.
"Hallo."
"Are you very busy?"
"Moderately."
"What are you doing?"
"Can't you see?"
"No. I'm not a gardener. You seem to be playing with the earth in some fashion."
"I'm pricking out winter lettuce."
"Pricking out? What a curious term! Like pinking. Do you know what pinking is? I only learnt the other day. I always thought it was a term for professional duelling."
Awesome.
