Stephen Hawking likes his "Death Panel" Health Care just fine, thanks
August 11, 2009, 2:52PM
Investor's Business Daily recently wrote an editorial which contained the following statement:
"People such as scientist
Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K.
, where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless"
The statement has been removed from the editorial since its original publication. Apparently the rigorous research team at IBD didn't realize that
Hawking is British
and has been the recipient of British health care during the whole time he's lived longer than seemingly any other ALS patient!
I figured that a frequent health care user as smart as Stephen Hawking would probably have an opinion on the subject of "Death Panel" medicine, so I went on his Web site and sent him an e-mail asking him about it. His personal assistant was kind enough to forward his response, which was:
"I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for the NHS. I have received a large amount of high quality treatment without which I would not have survived."
She also said he didn't want to do interviews on the subject but does feel quite strongly about it.
So there you have it. The world's smartest sick guy isn't at all worried about his "socialized" medical care. Maybe the rest of us shouldn't be, either.

So now it's been five years since that post. Osama's administration is almost over and we now know what a wreck he has made of this country. Bush screwed the sand people, but who cares about them anyway?

I'm expecting the GOP to claim that Obama is a Manchurian Candidate next.

I'm beginning to get really sick of the "OMG Obama is a socialist. We're all going to die! Commie!" This is what happens when a far, far, far, right wing Rebublican lacking in any real leadership qualities, common sense, or overall intelligence runs your country for 8 years. There's a guy I work with, who's a 'devout' republican, who likes to btch about anything new that hits the news, and how it's, "All Obama's fault. See what a mess he's made? I mean, look at the debt. He's ruining everything and we're going to become Commies" IT doesn't matter that I try and explain that anybody with basic mathmatical skills could have figured out that long before Bush ever left office our national debt was quite literally, unpayable (at least in my lifetime, and I was about 16 at the time that was officially stated). There was, and still is, no possible way to reimburse the amount of money he spent/borrowed. To that I get the response, "Yeah, but Obama made it worse." Whether he did or didn't is irrelevant. That's like saying that your friend is dead, and the coroner made it worse by cutting him open. I've come to realise that a good deal of people who flip out about 'socialism' not only do not actually know what it is, but are mostly just freaking out because the media told them to. In fact, they also don't seem to realise that America is not even a Democracy, it's a Republic. Most of the people who do know this, you find out later, don't know why let alone the difference. Nobody wants to take an active interest in the workings of our government, but boy do they want to btch when the tv tells them to.
"Forget Regret, or Life is yours to Miss."

I'm expecting to read that Hawkings is actually from Kenya.
Soon, Orly Taitz will be cranking out more genuine birth certificates. Each incarnation more genuine than the last.
Womb Raiders - Orly Taitz
Stephen thanks Orly Taitz for being one of the few people willing to compare the Obama administration to Nazi Germany. (04:57)
