On my Rust multiply site, I have a gorgeous photo of Rust with Hyland when they were in an episode of Sam Benedict together. In 'Bird of Warning' 1962, Rust as Hank Tabor runs into his ex-fiancee in court, and since she needs help, he helps her with her case. Hyland has always been one of my favorite actors/personalities, she was so special, so I was really lucky when I not only won this photo on ebay, BUT also, got hold of only TWO episodes of Sam Benedict, and this was one (the other was the Yvonne Craig.) It's such a good TV show, so ahead of its time, I really hope it gets on DVD soon. The coolest TV appearance of Hyland's for me is the one she did on Th111ce Twilight Zone. Whew, that one scared me. She was magnificent! During my Rust research, someone told me that Rust & Hyland may have had a short term relationship. I think they made a beautiful couple I wonder if they met during Sam Benedict, or before that, maybe when they acted on stage together? I wish we knew more - Rust died in 1994. And Diana died the same year as Elvis, at almost the same age. I miss all 3 of these people, Rust, Elvis and Diana.
